Sudan’s children and families are caught in an escalating crisis that shows no signs of ending fast.
Over 11 million people have been forcibly displaced and hunger levels have reached catastrophic proportions, with millions on the brink of life-threatening hunger. It’s the largest child displacement crisis in the world, amid an unprecedented humanitarian crisis in Sudan’s recorded history.
With children and families struggling to survive, we must act now.
We stand at a critical moment.
Following over two years of violent conflict, Sudan is now the world's largest humanitarian crisis, with half of the country's population – a staggering 24.6 million people - already facing high levels of acute food insecurity.
We must see the UK Government doing much more to help negotiate and secure a ceasefire.
The conflict has had a devastating impact on children’s lives, leaving an alarming 16 million children in urgent need of support. The UK and other governments must also further scale-up emergency aid over the coming weeks and months, to help people at risk of malnutrition and disease.
Lives must be saved now before it’s too late.

Since the crisis began in Sudan in April 2023, we’ve been able to reach 3 million people with emergency assistance. Our local teams have been working in some of the worst impacted areas, in Blue Nile, South Darfur, East Darfur and South Kordofan, providing food, water, cash assistance and sanitation.
But as this brutal crisis pushes more and more people to the edge, we urgently need to get life-saving help to those on the verge of a life-threatening hunger crisis.
